making a banner in flash...
i managed to make something that actually looks alright! and works! with a little help from John of course i placed a play button in the centre on my 800x80 banner which when pressed will play the following animations: it'll have a kind of musicmonth graphic flashing outwards like a sound wave(to go with my previously made "sound" website) and the text "experince sound like never b4" will speed across from 1 side 2 the other and stop so its able 2 b read and then fade-out 2 the background all while a whole list of my favourite music artists/bands names will be scrolling up & down in the background.
i used the same colours as in my website, so black yellow and white + a grey, which should suit the site nicely.

slideshows in flash
learnt how to create simple slideshows using clear click spots over symbols to see each of the slides, also learnt how to fade in and out into each slide when you click across, which is quite a nice simple effect to use.
We learnt how to use a masking effect using a simple shape that rolls over the page revealing the next slide.

the project
apparently we have to create a small animation for the websites we created in the previous project so 4 mine it'll have 2 b something to do with music/sound i was thinking a small ad type thing like u c all over the web all those animated banners and stuff.
hey i learnt some things!
starting 2 gt the hang of flash now and using tweens and layers, key frames and shiz using f5, f6. managed to make a whole heap of things in a quick project we were asked 2 do, which was to create this small scene with a number of things happening inside including water, an island, rising & setting sun, palm trees, birds, a boat, a jumping dolphin or in my case a flipping dolphin!!! ohhh helll yea!!! but yea it all looked like shit but it was just about learning the basics of the dam program.
1 word...flash
started using a new program for digital called 'Flash' the first day was a pain in the ass as i was stuggling 2 follow the instructions and all the stuff we had 2 learn, kept asking lindsay wat 2 do!

artists
for my artists page i just ripped info of each artist from wikipedia.com and added my favourite tracks underneath for each artist took ages!!!!! the font size and colour on each page is all over the place, not sure of a quick way to fix that though.
dreamweaver
starting to get used to dreamweaver now i'm just about in control although my first go at making this music website turned out pretty good i wanted to do something a bit more complex so i started again. on my menu i'll have the follwoing buttons: home, artists, top 20, gallery, contact. its gonna be annoying getting a whole heap of pictures off google for the gallery part.
ideas are a flowing
got a few ideas going through me ed like this 1 i thought i could like an ipod themed site but i'm not sure if i'll beable 2 replicate the clickwheel action so i thought i could just kinda split the up in2 buttons or something
also i got an idea for a menu, lindsey instantly thought winamp when i showed em and i'd have 2 agree but it still looks pretty sweet but yea something like this would be cooo just change a few things here and there in photoshop.
For this 1 i thought i could use 2 massive speakers on either side of the page, could look cool also i thought maybe taking a photo of my bros room with his stereo and stuff and use that as a background of some kind.
sound=music
i really wanted 2 do the topic "music" 4 my website but i was struggling 4 a while as to how i would beable 2 cause we were given topics to choose from and music wasn't 1 of them. But there was "sound" so they could mean a lot of things really so music it is!

Started "digital 2" @ poly and we have to make a website using dreamweaver which i have never used b4, should be interesting. the class is being taugt by the best teacher in the world John Maillard! The first thing we did was set up this blog page which will be used instead of a workbook and we have scan drawings in post them on the blog with notes and all kinds of shiz.
